Dr. Florence Nyangara is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of PIMA International. She brings more than 25 years of experience helping government agencies, nonprofits, foundations, and mission-driven organizations generate, interpret, and use evidence to make better decisions that improve programs and create lasting social impact.
Throughout her career, Dr. Nyangara has worked at the intersection of research, evaluation, strategy, public health, demography, and health equity, partnering with organizations to better understand the needs of underserved populations, strengthen accountability, and translate evidence into meaningful action. Whether supporting a local community initiative, advising a U.S. federal agency, or leading multi-country evaluations, her work has been guided by one fundamental principle: Better decisions begin with better evidence.

Her experience spans community organizations, U.S. federal and state agencies, and global development programs. She has led complex research, evaluation, performance measurement, and strategic assessment initiatives in more than 30 countries, funded by organizations including USAID, HRSA, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, and the European Union, ministries of health, and numerous nonprofit organizations. Across sectors including health, human services, education, agriculture, governance, food security, and community development, her work has helped leaders make better decisions informed by evidence, strengthening programs, and advancing equitable outcomes.
Dr. Nyangara helps leaders move beyond collecting data to understanding - what it means, why it matters, and how to use it to improve decisions. She has also advised executive leadership teams, governing boards, policymakers, community organizations, and international donors, translating complex information into clear, actionable guidance that informs policy, prioritizes investments, advances equity, and strengthens organizational performance.

Having worked from rural communities to international institutions, Dr. Nyangara has seen firsthand that lasting change happens when decisions are grounded in credible evidence and informed by the voices and experiences of the people those decisions are intended to serve. That conviction has shaped every stage of her career—from working alongside women farmers and underserved rural communities early in her career to advising senior leaders on national and global health, development, and social impact initiatives.
She founded PIMA International to bridge the gap between evidence and action. PIMA was founded to help organizations move beyond measuring results to using evidence as a practical tool for better decisions, stronger programs, and greater impact. The firm's approach reflects Dr. Nyangara's lifelong commitment to ensuring that evidence not only informs decisions but also creates meaningful opportunities for people and communities to thrive.
